Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to help more people than ever make their new house a home, after experiencing a long period of homelessness. Brand new sheets, towels, kitchenware and cookware go a long way towards making a comfortable and welcoming home. Home in a Box makes a huge difference to those early days and sets people up for a fresh start.
Since January 2020, we have delivered 84 boxes to services that are housing people who have experienced chronic homelessness. That’s almost twice the number delivered in 2019. A total of 48 men and 36 women, along with 26 children, have received the boxes. Our most recent recipient was a mum and her two young children, who were homeless for 6 months as a result of family violence.
Thank you to our Home in a Box suppliers: Kennards Self Storage, Maxwell and Williams, Linen House, Hospitality Products and HC Distributors.
Thank you to all the services who work tirelessly to find safe, appropriate and affordable housing for their clients, and continue to support them to settle into their new home.
Special thanks to all the generous supporters of Home in a Box, especially the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney, Mater Hospital Volunteers and Mercy College Chatswood, and thank you to our energetic staff and volunteers that help pack boxes.
