In recent weeks we have delivered many Homes in Boxes to women and women with children, who have experienced homelessness and are moving into a safe and secure home.
Brand new, high quality homewares that are spilling out of Home in a Box provide fluffy towels, a new kettle and toaster, a new dinner set, glasses and cutlery, cooking and kitchen ware and a new doona, sheets and pillows, to help make a warm and welcoming home.
Since January we have delivered 104 Homes in Boxes, which is many more than we could have delivered without your support. Recent recipients include:
- A woman in her 40’s, homeless for many years, with major health concerns
- A mum and 3 young children who were living in a refuge for 6 months
- A woman in her 50’s who was living on the streets for 5 years
- A young man who was sleeping rough for 12 months
- A grandmother and 2 grandchildren who had experienced homelessness
“I am emailing you to say a massive thank you for the generous and thoughtful boxes that you have provided to many of our vulnerable clients here at the Junction Neighbourhood Centre. The time, thought, and care put into these boxes is without question and we know that they are making the biggest difference to the lives of our clients who have only just moved into their homes. A BIG thank you from us here at the JNC”
