“Please thank them so very much for me!”
A woman in her 40’s was the most recent recipient of a Home in a Box. She had been homeless for many years and finally found a safe, secure, permanent home.
This year we have delivered 17 Homes in Boxes, providing comfortable home wares to help formerly homeless people settle into their new permanent home.
Recipients this year includes:
- A woman who was homeless for 2 years
- An older man with an acquired brain injury who was homeless for 2 years
- A man who had slept rough for 5 years with nothing to help make a home
- A woman who was homeless for 6 years who hopes to commence study now that she is in her own home.
Home in a Box is delivered to housing or service workers that have helped permanently house people who have experienced chronic homelessness. Where needed, extra support services are provided to ensure people remain housed.
Home in a Box provides the essentials to help make a house a home. Thank you to our generous suppliers, My House, Kennards Self Storage, Maxwell & Williams, HC Distributors, Hospitality Products and the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney.
We are also very grateful to the generous donors to the Home in a Box project and to the enthusiastic students from Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College who helped us pack our last round of Homes in Boxes.
